The Port is hosting two in-person open public meetings this week about the Short Farm. Please join us to learn about the Short Farm Planning Process.

The Wednesday April 17 meeting is a Community Open House with University of Washington students and Port staff.  The event will be an open house style format with multiple stations that the public can freely move between. At the Wildlife, Agriculture, Creek Management, and Community & Economic Development stations, we will be speaking with community members and writing down the different opportunities that they see for the farm. After a short presentation on the planning process and the UW students’ involvement, we will facilitate a group discussion where the top choices are collected.

Discussion among the Farm Steering Committee will be the principle focus of the Thursday April 18 meeting. Both meetings will be held at the Kivley Center at 97 Oak Bay Road in Port Hadlock and have been noticed as Commission Special Meetings because a quorum of the Port Commission is expected to attend and observe.
