Here are proposed dates for the upcoming halibut and lingcod fishing seasons. These will not be official until the WDFW officially approves and publishes the information in their pamphlet. However, we feel confident enough to share these with you so that you can start planning.
Lingcod for our area (Catch Areas 6 & 9) is a “historical” season – meaning it remains the same year to year. It is subject to change but has not done so recently. The 2015 season will run May 1 through June 15.
Halibut for Areas 6 & 9 opens May 8 and 9, Friday and Saturday; May 15 and 16, Friday and Saturday; May 21-24, Thursday through Sunday, and May 28-30, Thursday through Saturday. If you fish for halibut in the Sekiu area, please note the dates for that are Open May 15 and 16, Friday and Saturday; May 21-24, Thursday through Sunday, and May 29-30 Friday and Saturday.
