EMERGENCY BOATHAVEN/BOATYARD WATER CLOSURE: Our Stormwater Project has experienced an unexpected complication. During digging, the stormwater project has unexpectedly undermined a main waterline, creating a risk of rupture for this line. This line is a 12-inch 135 psi waterline servicing everything west of Gold Star Marine, including moorage tenants and buildings. The 75-ton wash down station and everything east of Goldstar Marine should remain functional (however, 300 ton yard, moorage tenants on docks will not have water).
Water service will be shut down starting at 4 a.m. on Thursday, August 21 until Thursday evening. The exact time of service restoration is undetermined at this point. During this shut down period, alternative restroom access will be available at the following locations: Port Administration Building (2701 Jefferson) and Boat Haven Main Restroom/Laundry (#29).
The Port and the City have scheduled a second water service interruption required for this project: Sunday, August 24, 2025 from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m.
We recognize this represents a major disruption and inconvenience and apologize. Our crews are doing their best to complete the work safely and quickly.
