Please join the Port as we provide an update on the status of the JCIA Runway Rehabilitation project, receive your input, and answer your questions.

Shannon Kinsella, an engineer from Reid Middleton, will present information on the engineering work completed to date, key design issues, the formal request submitted to the FAA to allow use of the parallel taxiway as a temporary runway during construction, and the remaining engineering work prior to construction (still anticipated to occur in 2019).

The meeting will include time for those in attendance to identify and discuss concerns and provide suggestions as to how to achieve a successful project and minimize impacts to airport users.

MEETING DETAILS:

Tuesday, December 18, 2018
5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Port of Port Townsend Commission Building
333 Benedict Street | Port Townsend

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Please follow the links to review the 60% level drawings for the JCIA Runway project, along with the Port’s formal request for use of the parallel taxiway as a temporary runway during the reconstruction project.  These documents, which were submitted to the FAA on November 26, incorporate additional information and analysis since the 30% stage of design, as well as input from the previous public meetings.  The drawings provide additional information for review, discussion and input from the pilots, the FAA and other stakeholders.

Now that the 60% design has been provided to the FAA, the next major project milestone will be the 90% design submittal.  Now is a great time for interested persons to provide input and feedback on the design as it progresses.  Reid Middleton will be modifying and updating the drawings and design based on FAA review comments and requirements and consideration of public input as they work towards the 90% submittal and preparation of bid documents.

Reid Middleton and Port staff expects to have additional information to share with the public during this meeting, including potential additional alternatives for the center taxiway/runway connector, which is being closely examined.

Thank you for you interest.  We look forward to hearing from you on December 18!
