Tickets are now on sale for the 2015 Olympic Peninsula Salmon Derby. For the first time, due to 2015’s late fishing season start in Marine Area 9, this annual event will run from February 20-22, instead of the traditional slot on Presidents Day weekend. There are two other important changes this year: 1) the three-day derby will start on Friday instead of Saturday, with the awards ceremony on Sunday instead of Monday; and 2) all tickets will be sold in advance, with ticket sales ending on Wednesday February 18th; NO tickets will be sold at weigh stations during the derby. What hasn’t changed is the scope of the derby – with 500 square miles of fishing, five weigh stations, a $10,000 first prize, and four great $500 Mystery Fish prizes.

In support of the event, The Port of Port Townsend waives boat launch fees during the derby.
